Hello,
Larian!

Slime King: Origins

Slime King: Origins is a fast-paced RPG-bullet hell hybrid that I developed solo in just one month for the 2024 RPG Game Jam—where it won first place! The game follows a dethroned king who has been cursed into the form of a slime, forced to battle through his own castle to reclaim his throne.

From programming and game design to art and music, I handled every aspect of development, ensuring a cohesive vision and polished experience within the jam’s tight timeframe. Winning the competition was a rewarding recognition of the work I put in, and I’m excited to keep building on the ideas explored in this project.

Pathfinder 2e: Age of Discord

Age of Discord is a homebrew Pathfinder 2nd Edition campaign I devised and am currently running! It is the culmination of my love of tabletop roleplaying games, collaborative storytelling, and tactical combat!

For thousands of years, the Elyrian Empire, now known simply as "the old empire" controlled the continent of Ossa'dorei. The old empire solidified its power through zealous indoctrination and a strict control of magic. This method necessitated the alienation of what the empire called “lesser races''; populations of sentient species who possessed natural magic, worshiped unsanctioned deities, or were otherwise difficult to assimilate. In time, this alienation became the empire’s undoing.

Hundreds of years after the fall of the old empire, the continent is home to a great diversity of peoples, faiths and ideologies. Sure, roads between cities are no longer patrolled, the coasts are plagued by pirates and petty nobles wage warfare over the smallest of squabbles, but that is the price of freedom. Obviously, not everyone is happy. There are whispers of those who still work in the shadows for the return of the Elyrian Empire. It would be an inconvenient time for ancient, powerful, long suppressed magic to re-emerge.

In the drowning city of Caprina, Djorji, a small-time drug dealer grappling with addiction, battles against the rising tide, both literal and metaphorical. With the incessant rain threatening to consume the sinking city, Djorji races against time to secure a future for himself and his ailing mother. As he delves deeper into the murky world of drug trade, his own ambition causes him to become the unwitting pawn for far more cunning and powerful players.

Maledetta is a work in progress comic written and illustrated by me, and based on a story first experienced through a tabletop roleplaying game.

MALEDETTA

Incendiary Literature was a final project done for the VISA370 course at UBC, a course about Artist Books! I wanted to tell a story using a magic scroll. To tell this story, I needed to model and 3D print custom type faces to be used in a printing press! The creation of this project was a great synthesis between what I had learned at VFS’s Game Design program, and what I had learned at UBC up to that point.

INCENDIARY LITERATURE

THE META NARRATIVE

In a world where magic is highly controlled, and the empire owns the only printing press, a young goblin hedge wizard breaks into the printing room to mass create “fireball” scrolls. Since magic scrolls require specific magic runes, the goblin has to create custom types for each magic rune! He then packs the scroll with as much information as possible, making it a piece of propaganda, as well as an instructional manual on how to cast the spell.
